Written out of a desire to see people sing of God's goodness no matter what circumstances they face.

God has displayed his goodness in so many ways. The climax of the song, the bridge (and in a way the climax of God's goodness in the bible) is displayed in Revelation 5. This is where a great multitude worships the weak slain lamb Jesus Christ who died for the sins of the world but is now reigning forever. What a good God we have!
